The Inn
La Casona
El Prado Mayor is located in Quintanilla del Rebollar, in the region of Las Merindades (northern Burgos). It is a typical farmhouse of the area with some architectural and decorative elements dating back to the late 16th century. It has been restored respecting the original style and materials while improving its livability.
It has eight rooms, a lounge with a fireplace, a porch, a garden, and an orchard. WiFi access is free. Pets are not allowed.
Lounges, porch and garden
Located in an adjoining building (former woodshed), the inn has a comfortable two-story lounge with a fireplace to enjoy conversations, board games, and reading. In the main building, on the first floor, there is a small sitting room with access to the balcony.
Outside, the spacious porch and garden with orchard are equipped with pleasant spaces to enjoy the good weather.
Kitchen and orchard
The kitchen offers homegrown products and others from the surrounding area. The gastronomy is homemade, simple, and natural. Vegetables, greens, and fruits come from the orchard. Traditional breakfasts include local dairy products, wood-fired bread, heather honey, jams, and homemade pastries.
We accommodate vegetarian diets, as well as guests who are diabetic, celiac, or have various food allergies.
The inn offers a bar-café service, breakfasts, and light à la carte dinners (by request).

Ojo Guareña Natural Area
El Prado Mayor is located in a privileged environment, the Ojo Guareña Natural Area, declared a Natural Monument in 1996. Beech and oak forests abound, such as the Pyrenean oak that gives the village its name. Where the rock is limestone, holm oaks and Portuguese oaks predominate, surrounding the impressive karst formations of the Ojo Guareña Complex, one of the largest cave systems in Europe.
Las Merindades Region
In the northern mountains of Burgos, more than 360 villages spread over a territory similar in size to neighboring Biscay make up the wide region of Las Merindades. The Ebro River and the Cantabrian Mountains shape spectacular landscapes. Romanesque art and noble and popular architecture enrich the natural appeal of the region.

Enjoy everything the region has to offer: adventure sports, hot air balloons, horseback riding, and more.
